Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed rice procurement in the state at a high-level meeting held at his official residence on Wednesday. He gave instructions to carry out the rice procurement process under the Price Support Plan with complete promptness and transparency.
The Chief Minister asserted that the interest of farmers is paramount for the state government. Negligence at any level in the procurement of paddy will not be tolerated. For the convenience of farmers, all state purchasing centers should continue to function. In all cases, it must be guaranteed that payment is made to the farmer within 48 hours of purchase.
CM Yogi said that full attention should be given to the basic facilities and needs of farmers such as seating, shade and drinking water at procurement centres. There should be no shortage of bags. The acquisition must be made through the token system. Adequate measures should be taken at purchasing centers to protect rice from rain and other natural disasters. Every activity in shopping centers must be monitored through CCTV cameras. Timely and continuous availability of employees must be ensured. All these works should also be subject to continuous monitoring from headquarters.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said efforts made to provide ration easily and with full transparency to all eligible families in the state have yielded good results. The state government has promoted the process of making Fair Price Shop a model fair price shop.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Information Sanjay Prasad, Principal Secretary Food Alok Kumar, Food Commissioner Saurabh Babu and other senior officials were present.
