Lucknow. There has been a political uproar over the inauguration ceremony of the 70th National Convention of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at the Sports Complex (main ground) of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay University Gorakhpur. Congress has raised questions about it.
State Congress president Ajay Rai said the invitation letters will be distributed by the University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Poonam Tandon herself. The Vice Chancellor and the Pro Vice Chancellor are forcing the teachers to approach the group of university teachers. This is an attempt to unionize educational institutions, which we condemn. He also said that money meant for education and development of common students is spent on promoting the ideas of the Sangh and strengthening its affiliate ABVP, which is condemnable.
Action should be taken against the partial vice-chancellor.
The Congress President said that this despicable act is being committed by the Vice-Chancellor of the highest educational institution, the University, only for the adulation of the government and the greed to remain in office. He said that the Congress Party strongly criticizes this condemnable act of the Vice Chancellor. He demanded from the Governor that immediate action be taken against this biased Vice Chancellor.
