New Delhi: Counting of votes for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections will take place on Saturday and the election results will be announced. Congress has been alert to this. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara have been appointed observers for Maharashtra. Senior Congress leader Tariq Anwar, Telangana deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Indian Youth Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru have been appointed observers of the All India Congress Committee for Jharkhand.
The count will take place tomorrow in both states.
Voting took place on November 20 in all 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra, while elections were held in two phases in Jharkhand. In Jharkhand, voting was held for 43 seats in the first phase on November 13, while elections were held for 38 seats in the second and final phase on November 20.
