Cooperative Minister Dr. Prem Kumar inaugurates the Cooperative Pavilion.

The cooperative’s pavilion was inaugurated on Monday at the Sonpur fair in Bihar. On this occasion, Cooperative Minister Dr. Prem Kumar initiated the programme. 12 stalls have been set up in this 4,000 square foot pavilion. Products from many cooperative societies are displayed and sold there. Special priority has been given to women’s cooperative societies and khadi weavers’ societies. The objective of this pavilion is to convey the importance of cooperation to tourists and connect people with cooperative schemes.

Numerous products have become the center of attraction of the stalls installed in the Cooperative Pavilion. KGN Primary Dhurad Cooperative Society has displayed products like woolen clothes, shawls and sweaters. At the same time, Rupganj Mahila Khadi Sahayog Samiti presents clothing, gamchha, kurta and pajamas made of khadi. Pragati Self Sufficient Cooperative Society has provided food products like spices and Litti-Chokha. For Makhana products, Shri Mithila Makhana Farmers Organization displayed Makhana and its products at their stall.

Special position for farmers and women.

Vegfed provides information and seeds and plants related to vegetable production to farmers. Furthermore, the cooperative bank made its plans known and motivated people to open more and more accounts. Women’s cooperative societies have been given priority and their products have been promoted so that they can improve their income and employment.

Street drama for cooperative consciousness

Street performances were also organized in the Cooperation Pavilion. In it, the importance and cooperation schemes were explained in an interesting way. The Cooperative Department tried to reach it to the common people. Through these events, people are informed about the benefits of cooperative societies and their objectives.

Speech by the Cooperative Minister

At the programme, Cooperative Minister Dr Prem Kumar said that cooperatives are a powerful medium to bring government schemes to all sections of the society. He reiterated his determination to make Bihar a leader in the field of cooperation. On this occasion, Sonpur MLA Dr. Ramanand Prasad and many senior officials of the Cooperative Department were also present. The successful organization of the program was a great step to give new dimensions to cooperation.
