According to sources, this measure was taken after an ultimatum regarding the security situation in the state and the increase in violence in the area.

Following the attack by militants on a CRPF camp in Manipur, the conflict has intensified in the state, especially in areas where significant ethnic tensions are seen between the Meitei and Kuki groups. The Central Government is continuously monitoring the law and order situation in Manipur.

In fact, violence broke out in the state just hours after the bodies of six missing persons were found in a river in Jiribam district. Protesters attacked the houses of three ministers and six MLAs, while the state government imposed curfew in five districts and suspended internet services in some parts. Officials also said that the situation in the state is continuously worsening. There is more tension in Bishnupur, Imphal and Jiribim areas. The curfew has also been reimposed here.

Civil society groups in Manipur have issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the state government, demanding decisive action against armed militant groups. Khuraizam Athauba, spokesperson for civil rights group Meitei, Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), said, “All state representatives and all MLAs should sit together and take decisive steps to resolve this crisis at the earliest. ”.

Along with this, he said that we have given a 24-hour ultimatum to the Government of India and the Government of Manipur to take decisive and military action against all armed groups.
