A girl resident of Rataul village in Khekra Kotwali area of Baghpat district was married to Jitendra Kumar in Roshan Vihar of Dayalpur police station area of Karawalnagar five years ago. In the marriage, apart from an Alto car and jewelery worth around Rs 25 lakh, cash was also given as dowry to the in-laws. A few months after getting married, the husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law and sister-in-law started demanding a dowry. Money was demanded saying that Jitendra needed Rs 10 lakh to study Panchakarma medicine. Victim Pushpa lodged a complaint with Khekra Kotwali police and said that she was being continuously harassed at her in-laws’ house as her dowry demand was not met. The victim complained to the police and said that on the night of September 19, 2024, when they came to know about the hidden camera installed in her bedroom, her husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law started beating Pushpa. . When his dowry demand was not met, the woman’s husband began having illicit relations with other girls. When the victim started protesting against this whole matter, the accused husband started beating her. And he started blackmailing him continuously. Baghpat ASP NP Singh said that on the basis of Pushpa’s complaint, a case has been registered against three accused under serious sections. I have started arguing.
