A case of alleged sexual harassment of a schoolgirl in a school bus in Anand Vihar area of Shahdara in Delhi has come to light. An official gave this information on Wednesday. The police have registered a case against the driver of the vehicle, the conductor and a school assistant.
The official said that the private school registered a complaint and the parents’ statement regarding this incident. The incident occurred when the girl was on her way to her home in Indira Puram, Ghaziabad.
“However, the parents did not come forward to provide details of the incident or file a written complaint for further legal action,” Delhi Police said in a statement. But considering the seriousness of the crime, a case has been registered against the bus driver, conductor and school assistant under Section 10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.’ More research is being done.
This is not the first case of exploitation of children in schools and tuitions, but many similar cases have also been reported in the past. Recently, a case of sexual abuse of a six-year-old girl in a private school in Noida came to light.
