A clash took place between two groups of teenagers at a temple in Jahangirpuri area of Delhi. After this there was heavy stoning. The police gave this information on Tuesday. According to police, two minors were injured in the incident and were taken to a nearby hospital. The condition of both is said to be normal.
The incident occurred on Monday night.
A CCTV footage of the stone-pelting incident has gone viral on social media. In this, some children can be seen throwing stones at each other in a temple. Police said the incident occurred around 8:15 pm on Monday night and legal action was initiated in this regard.
Two teenagers from the same community faced each other
“We received several PCR calls regarding a stone-pelting incident at a temple,” a police officer said in a statement. “Several teams from Mahindra Park police station immediately reached the spot and initial investigation revealed that two groups of teenagers from the same community clashed with each other.”
Several teams were formed for the investigation.
The officer said there was an old dispute between the two groups. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Abhishek Dhania said in a video message that several teams have been formed to nab the accused. Some people on social media have twisted the entire matter to disturb communal harmony.
Legal action will be taken
Police said our cyber team identified some social media users who were spreading misinformation about the entire incident. Legal action will also be taken against them. CCTV footage is also being taken about this whole matter.
