Five people have been arrested for gang-raping a 17-year-old girl and her aunt (22) in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi. This incident occurred at midnight on Saturday. This incident came to light when the victim girl reached Safdarjung Hospital for treatment. There the hospital administration informed the police about this incident. Later, the police reached there and recorded the statements of both victims.
A senior police officer said the accused have been identified as Shivam Parchha, Aman Pal, Ashish alias Anshuman, Amar Mehra and Abhishek alias Ishu. He works as a driver and security guard in South Delhi. The girl’s father works as a carpenter, while her aunt’s husband works as a food delivery executive in south Delhi. On Saturday night he went to a club in Defense Colony.
There the girl was not allowed to enter the club due to her young age. Both of them were near the club at midnight, when the accused arrived in a Maruti Swift Dezire car and asked to take them to another club in Malviya Nagar. They both prepared to sit in the car. After this, instead of taking him to a club in Malviya Nagar, the accused took him to Gurugram. There they gave him cold drinks and liquor.
When the minor and her aunt got drunk, they took them to a house. The gang rape incident took place there. After this they left him near the ashram area and fled. The next morning, when the girl had stomach pain, she went to Safdarjung Hospital, where she was admitted. Upon investigation, the doctor discovered that the girl had been raped. After this the police were informed.
On the basis of the medical report and statement of the victim, the police registered a case against the accused under sections 64(1) (punishment for rape) and 70(1) (gang rape) of the Justice Code and Protection of Indian Children. of Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) Case registered under. The police arrested the five accused during the investigation of this case. The vehicle used in this incident has also been impounded.
