Delhi Metro has launched a special facility keeping women in mind, where if they commute, they can now book their bike taxi through the official mobile app of Delhi Metro, DMRC Momentum (Delhi Sarathi 2.0). With this, women will not need to juggle between multiple applications. This facility was started for women under the name SHERYDS, while a similar service was started for common passengers under the name RYDR. According to the news, SheRides – for women, by women is a personalized telegraphed initiative designed to meet the needs and preferences of women subway commuters.
It also allows women to travel freely and safely to their destination whenever it suits them. It provides women drivers with an earning opportunity so that they can live with dignity and respect while focusing on facilitating first and last mile connectivity for Delhiites. Pedicabs run by women ensure a safe journey for female passengers. Bike taxis are available at metro stations for last mile connectivity. Environmentally friendly: electric bikes reduce carbon footprint.
Reservations and Charges
All women bike taxis are provided by trained and verified female drivers. Your reservation is very easy. The taxi also has GPS tracking, which allows you to monitor trips in real time. The minimum booking fee is INR 10, after that for the first 2 kilometers INR 10 per kilometer and thereafter INR 8 per kilometer. This facility offers economic opportunities to women drivers. Also available as reliable transportation for women.
RYDR installations for everyone
According to DMRC, RYDR aims to provide efficient and productive service to all passengers of the Delhi Metro. This bike taxi service, which will run parallel to SHERYDS, will focus on optimizing users’ routes and ensuring shorter and more efficient travel times. Unlike traditional models where drivers can travel long distances, Rider keeps passengers within a specific radius, ensuring safety and shorter travel times.
