International Conference of Sanskrit Scholars, (current company), New Delhi: The three-day ‘International Conference of Sanskrit Scholars’, in which scholars from across the country participated, was held here at the auditorium of Satyawati College, University of Delhi. The chief guest of this lecture was Dr. Sandhya Purecha, President, Sangeet Natak Academy. The patron of the conference, Vice Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, Janakpuri, Professor Srinivas Varkhedi inaugurated the programme.

Srinivas Varkhedi said in his inaugural address that mother strength is the pride of our country. Men will have to accept this fact. Only the feeling of respect towards Sanskrit scholars can play an important role in the public consciousness of our society and nation. The mother power of our country has the ability to lead. Your future is bright. He said that there is an unbreakable relationship between Sanskrit, culture and civilization.
Children develop values with the help of Sanskrit
Children develop values only with the help of Sanskrit. Good civilization only develops through values. Padmashree Geeta Chandran, president of Natyavruksh Sanstha and famous Bharatanatyam dancer, said that what is in Sanskrit is not available in any other language. We artists use Sanskrit only in dance, music and singing. We have to see how Sanskrit can be propagated and spread through dance and music.

The function was presided over by Professor Anju Seth, Principal of Satyavati College. Congress Director Prof. Kamala Bhardwaj, on behalf of Vidushi Sammelan, honored ten women who have done notable work in various fields of public life. He said Sangeet Natak Academy President Dr. Sandhya Purecha, Padmashree Geeta Chandran, President’s Award winner Prof. Lakshmi Sharma, renowned mountaineer Padmashree Santosh Yadav, Padmashree Mrs. Sukama, Senior Sanskrit Scholar Ms. Bhagwati Sudesh and Prof. Satyam Kumari, Former Program Director of Akashvani Ms. Ritu Rajput, Prof. Kalidas Academy of Music and Fine Arts. Abha Kulshrestha and Dr Geeta Bhatt, director, Non-College Women’s Board, received a shawl, certificate of honour, Nataraja idol and logo of Satyavati College.

Dr Charu Kalra of Rashtra Sevika Sangh said that women are inspiration, stars and killers. The woman is the axis of the family and the nation because she is the bearer of culture. Under the leadership of Dr. Ganesh Pandit, Conference Coordinator, a video presentation was also presented to showcase the history of the Vidushi Conference, the article for which was read by Prof. Kamala Bhardwaj. The program was coordinated by Dr. Neelam Gaur, Dr. Meenakshi Mishra, Dr. Indu Soni and Dr. Kamna Vimal. Vice Chancellor Srinivas Varkhedi, General Secretary of the event, Dr. Ajay Jha inaugurated the exhibition organized at the university campus. The names of all the objects in the exhibition are displayed in Sanskrit language.
