A day after the stabbing death of Delhi Police constable Kiran Pal, the main accused was killed in an encounter with police in Sangam Vihar area. Constable Kiran Pal was attacked by three people while on night patrol in southeast Delhi’s Govindpuri area on Saturday.

Taking action after this, the New Delhi Range (NDR) teams of Special Cell and South East District Narcotics Cell went to the area connecting Sangam Vihar and Surajkund Road late on Saturday night. The accused was captured and asked to surrender, but he opened fire on the police personnel.
After this, the police team also opened fire in retaliation. During this the accused was seriously injured. He was immediately rushed to ESIC hospital in Okhla, where he died. A pistol and two cartridges have been seized from him. No police officers were injured in the encounter.
