In the next few days, severe cold weather will begin in Delhi and its surrounding areas. The reason is that there has recently been snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and the High Himalayas due to western disturbances, so there is a possibility of cold winds in and around Delhi. In the coming days there will be an increase in humidity and cold due to these winds coming from the west and northwest.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dense to very dense fog for Delhi and its adjoining plains for the next three days. In addition, the minimum temperature is likely to drop by 3°C. On November 16, the lowest minimum temperature in the northern plains was recorded at Delhi Ridge at 11°C.
The minimum temperature at various stations in Delhi has been recorded between 11 and 16 degrees Celsius. Additionally, a warning has been issued for Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal Himalayas for dense to very dense fog for the next five days. In these areas there will be reduced visibility due to fog, which may affect traffic.
Given the situation, citizens are recommended to remain alert while traveling and take extreme caution when driving due to fog. To avoid the effects of the cold, wear warm clothing and take special care of your health. Keeping in mind the IMD prediction, the effect of winter may deepen further in and around Delhi in the coming days.
