A series of accusations and counter-accusations have begun in state politics in connection with the assembly elections to be held in Maharashtra on November 20. The Constitution issue raised in the Lok Sabha elections also remains the same in the assembly elections to be held in both the states. The opposition has attacked the BJP by making the Constitution an issue in the assembly elections to be held in the states. National Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar once again cornered the BJP on the Constitution issue at a rally. Sharad Pawar said Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted 400 seats for the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections because his eyes were set on changing the Indian Constitution. Because of this the opposition felt that democracy was in danger. Therefore, the opposition showed unity. He said that the alliance with India was formed to save this Constitution.

Sharad Pawar said, “During the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Modi was demanding 400 seats for the BJP and was campaigning continuously.” He further said, “We were surprised by this demand from the BJP because winning 300-350 seats is considered historic for any party. When we thought deeply about 400 seats, we realized that the BJP wanted 400 MPs because their eyes were on the Indian Constitution written by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.”

thwart the attack on the Constitution

Sharad Pawar said that when the opposition suspected that the BJP wanted to tamper with the Constitution and snatch the rights of common people, all opposition leaders showed unity. Pawar said, “We are proud that the people of Maharashtra have given up 31 of the 48 Lok Sabha seats to the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi in the state and thwarted the attack on the Constitution.”
