- On Devuthani Ekadashi, get up early in the morning, take bath, meditate and vow to fast for Lord Vishnu.
- Cleanse the temple and remember Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth.
- Bathe the Lord with Panchamrit, apply turmeric or Gopi sandalwood tilak.
- Offer a garland of yellow flowers, sweets, fruits and basil leaves to Lord Vishnu.
- Chant Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya or any other mantra of Lord Vishnu, recite Vishnu Sahastranam and chant the aarti.
- After this, fast for the whole day, feed a poor person or a Brahmin and give him Dakshina.
- Stay awake at night by singing God bhajans and kirtans.
- After the morning puja, break your fast during Paraná time.
