Indore: Once again a case of digital arrest has come to light in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. This time, the cyber thugs attacked the businessman’s daughter-in-law, digitally arrested her and defrauded more than Rs 1.5 million. Currently, after the woman’s complaint, the police are investigating the whole matter.

According to information, Indore businesswoman Vandana Gupta was caught in a money laundering case by cyber goons and was under digital arrest for three days. Posing as ED officials, the goons got Rs 1 crore and 60 lakh transferred to their bank account and also pressured them to take a gold loan. The woman who was a victim of fraud has now reported to the police.

Cyber police officer Narendra Raghuvanshi said the miscreants kept the woman under digital arrest for three days, alleging that she was involved in a money laundering case related to Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal. The fraudsters posed as ED officers and deposited Rs 1 crore 60 lakh in their accounts in the name of the investigation. Despite this, when the cyberbullies began pressuring the woman to take out a gold loan and send more money, the woman realized that she had been tricked. After this, the businesswoman complained to the National Cyber Crime Helpline. Now the police are collecting information about cybercriminals from their accounts and mobile phone numbers.

Vandana Gupta, 50, who was a victim of cyber fraud, lives in Pragati Vihar Colony, Indore. She is the daughter-in-law of industrialist Subhash Gupta and does business with a large group that buys and sells shares. Vandana says she has never heard of an incident like a cyber arrest. Due to this, she got trapped in the trap of miscreants and goons and lost millions of rupees.
