An elderly man was beaten to death in a fight over burning of firecrackers in Sector 18 area of Faridabad. The age of the deceased was about 65 years old. The police reached the spot after receiving information, took possession of the body and sent it for autopsy. Following the complaint from the victim’s family, the police have registered a case against the accused under several sections.
In the complaint filed with the police, the deceased’s son Vinod Rai said that he lives with his father in Sector-18. On Diwali night, he woke up around a quarter to one after hearing the commotion. He saw his father Bachchan Rai being beaten by his neighbor Dheeraj and his friends. After this, he somehow saved his father.

Attacked after seeing an elderly man alone
On inquiring about the fight, it was revealed that neighbor Dheeraj and his friends were breaking crackers outside his house at 12.30 pm. A loud noise and smoke came from there. His father was a heart patient, so he had stopped Dheeraj and his friends from bursting crackers. Angered by this, Dheeraj and his friends saw his father alone and attacked him.
The police continued to fight over each other’s areas.
In this attack he suffered serious injuries. According to Vinod’s wife Mamta, he had also called the police. Three PCR vehicles arrived, but they continued fighting for each other’s areas. Then the ambulance arrived about an hour later. After this, the elderly Bachchan Rai was taken to the hospital. But there the doctor declared him dead.

PRO Yashpal Singh of Faridabad police said that a case has been registered against all the accused, including Dheeraj, in this case. The police will soon arrest the accused.
