india air has launched a plan to improve its home network. The airline will upgrade 5 major routes from metro to metro starting December 1. All flights on these five main routes will be operated with the airline’s best-in-class narrowbody aircraft. These 3 cabins come with Business, Premium Economy and Economy classes. Air India will use its Vistara A320neo aircraft here. Flights on these routes will operate under Air India ‘AI’ flight numbers. Air India has also scheduled flight timings, so that customers can get maximum choice and flexibility.
More than 1000 weekly flights
Air India offers over 1,000 weekly flights on these key routes, including 56 daily flights between Delhi and Mumbai, 36 daily flights between Delhi and Bengaluru and 24 daily flights between Delhi and Hyderabad. The five metro-to-metro routes affected by this new schedule are Delhi to Mumbai, Delhi to Bengaluru, Delhi to Hyderabad, Mumbai to Bengaluru and Mumbai to Hyderabad.

The aircraft deployed on these routes will offer a premium flying experience to passengers, with 8 luxurious business class seats offering 41 inches of pitch and 7 inches of recline. There are also 24 premium economy seats with extra legroom and 33 inches of pitch. Economy class will have 132 seats with 29 inches of space.
Vistara merges with Air India
Full-service provider Vistara merged with Air India this month. The number of flights operated by Vistara aircraft starts with ‘AI2’, giving passengers a choice at the time of booking. Air India said in a statement that flights on five metro-to-metro routes will be operated using Vistara’s former A320 series aircraft. Currently, Air India has a fleet of 208 aircraft, which includes around 67 large aircraft.
