Enthusiasm among Americans to vote: 7.5 crore voted even before November 5

United States presidential elections (AFP)

The presidential elections in the United States are on November 5, but there is a lot of enthusiasm among people regarding this election. More than 7.2 million American citizens have already cast their votes through early voting. Texas tops the list of early voters among American states, where 86 lakh people have already voted. After this is Florida, where 73 lakh people have cast their votes. At the same time, 67 lakh people in California and 40 lakh people in Georgia have already exercised their right to vote. These voters have cast their vote by voting by mail or in person.

Due to the large number of early voting in the United States, it is estimated that this time voting will continue until November.

What is the early voting system?

Early voting is a process in which citizens can cast their vote in person a few weeks or months before Election Day. This vote can also be done by mail. Many times it happens that for some reason people cannot cast their vote on the day of voting, in such a situation this early voting system is very useful for them. Most states in the United States make arrangements for early voting. States decide on a location and voters go to that location and cast their votes.

What does the survey say?

In this country of 50 states, it is not necessary for everyone to vote on the same day. Many people have jobs, many are businessmen and many are traveling to other countries. In such a situation, the maximum number of people can participate in voting, that is why this system is applied so that no one is deprived of their right to vote and their participation increases. The Five Thirty Eight poll shows that Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris has a 1.2-point lead over Trump. On average, Harris is slightly ahead of Trump, but this gap has narrowed significantly in the last month. Aside from this, Kamala has a 5-point lead over Trump in Michigan, 48 percent to 43 percent. Wisconsin poll shows Kamala Harris leading by 6 points.
