During this, Congress district president Sadashiv Yadav launched a scathing attack on the BJP and said that the BJP had murdered democracy in the by-elections and crushed the Baba Saheb Constitution. The Indore City and District Congress Committee organized a dharna near the Ambedkar statue at Geeta Bhawan in protest against the alleged irregularities in the recently concluded Vijaypur and Budhni by-elections and the incident that occurred with the statue of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
During the dharna, the city Congress president said people from the tribal and Dalit community were beaten up and an atmosphere of fear was created. The leaders also said that state Congress president Jitu Patwari lodged over 100 complaints with the Election Commission but no action was taken on any of them. The Congress accused the ruling party of abusing power and trying to win by force by committing irregularities in the elections and murdering democracy.
