- Central Nodal Officer gave instructions to ensure public participation in the campaign
(Fatehabad News) Fatehabad. Rajesh Singh, Joint Secretary, Integrated Finance Division, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has directed officials to ensure maximum public participation in the Jal Shakti Abhiyan. He was holding a meeting of officials of departments related to Jal Shakti Abhiyan at the auditorium of the local mini secretariat on Tuesday.
He has instructed the officers to give top priority to the work carried out under the campaign as well as to achieve notable achievements. To give impetus to the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, the authorities will have to take effective measures for water conservation, management and promotion. He said that for rainwater harvesting, priority should be given to works based on natural water sources, the renewal of traditional and other water bodies, the development of hydrographic basins, wastewater treatment and new technologies. Within the framework of this campaign, instructions were given to publicize the work to be carried out by the different departments, set objectives and ensure public participation.
He gave instructions to provide all types of information related to the campaign at Jal Shakti Kendra. He reviewed various works including renovation of ponds/johads under the Amrit Sarovar Scheme and also gave necessary instructions to the officials. Joint Secretary Rajesh Singh said that during the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, departments directly related to the public such as Public Health Department, ULB, PWD, Irrigation, Forest, Agriculture, Education, Women and Child Development, Development and Panchayat Department etc. Objectives related to their departments are given.
Rainwater harvesting systems will be built to conserve water.
He said shock wells will be constructed under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, which should be constructed quickly. Likewise, rainwater collection systems will be built to store rainwater; concerned departments should prioritize this work. He directed the officials of the Agriculture Department to carry out awareness campaigns in the villages under this programme. In the meeting, Irrigation Department Superintendent Engineer OP Bishnoi said that various departments have started work to achieve the objectives set by Jal Shakti Abhiyan in the district.
He said that officials from the concerned departments will work in coordination to achieve the parameters set in the campaign. In the meeting, officials from various departments gave detailed information about the works related to their respective departments. During this, Technical Officer Vijesh, District Education Officer Sangeeta Bishnoi, Forest Department Officer Rajesh Kumar, Executive Engineer KC Kamboj, Singh, BDPO Vikas Langyan, SDO Gajendra Singh, Satpal Rose, Junior Engineer Ajay were present.
