Chennai: A man resident of Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, has been arrested along with his daughter. This man is accused of killing a woman who lived in his neighborhood and then, along with his daughter, put the woman’s body in a suitcase and arrived at the train station to dispose of it.
What’s the whole deal?
Railway police arrested a 43-year-old man and his minor daughter from Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, for trying to stuff their neighbor’s body in a suitcase and leave it at Minjur railway station. This information came to light on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as Balasubramaniam, a goldsmith. He was presented before the magistrate and placed in preventive detention. His accused 17-year-old daughter was sent to a government home for girls.
Police made shocking revelation
Police said Balasubramaniam and his daughter had planned to dispose of the body of their elderly neighbor, who was allegedly murdered for gold, in Chennai. But when the accused arrived at Minjur train station, after seeing the police, they left the suitcase and tried to flee.
But after seeing blood stains on the suitcase, the police became suspicious and detained both accused and asked them to open the suitcase. He said that upon opening the suitcase, the police found the body of an elderly woman in the suitcase, who was later identified as Ramani (65). Initial police investigation revealed that Balasubramaniam had murdered his neighbor for her jewellery. After this incident came to light, even the police are shocked and discussions are heated in the area. (Entry: PTI)
