Now Ram Gopal has once again become the subject of controversy. The Andhra Pradesh police have registered a case against him, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his family for spreading derogatory content on social media.
Ram Gopal Varma is accused of sharing morphed photographs of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh, TDP leaders and Janasena Party chief and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on social media.
Case against Ram Gopal Varma in Andhra Pradesh
According to a report in India Today, TDP leader Ramalingam had lodged a complaint against Ram Gopal Varma at Maddipadu police station in Prakasam district. They allege that the filmmaker circulated derogatory content on social media targeting the family, including CM Naidu, his son Lokesh and daughter-in-law Brahmini.
In his complaint, Ramalingam alleged that Verma’s social media posts bring the Chief Minister, his deputy and his family into disrepute in the society. On Sunday night, a complaint was filed against Verma for allegedly uploading posts of derogatory content on social media.
Prakasam Police SP AR According to Damodar, this case was registered under the IT Act. He said, “We have registered a case against Ram Gopal Varma at Maddipadu police station for morphing photographs in an offensive manner against the present Chief Minister, his family members and the Deputy Chief Minister.”
Ram Gopal Varma also made a controversial film on Naidu.
Ram Gopal Varma is known to be close to the YSR Congress Party and has been openly criticizing Chandrababu Naidu for a long time. Her film ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ was based on the life of TDP founder and former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao. The central theme of this film was the story of NTR’s romance and marriage with Lakshmi Parvati.
In the film, Chandrababu’s role in NTR’s political downfall is critically shown. The story highlighted the events of 1995 when NTR’s son-in-law Chandrababu Naidu created factionalism within the party, expelled NTR from the party and himself became Chief Minister.
