Yashasvi Jaiswal bats, KL Rahul out after scoring brilliant 77 runs
1st Test Aus vs Ind Day 3 (Current Partnership), Sports Desk: The Indian team has strengthened its presence in the Perth Test. The team scored 275 runs with the loss of one wicket till lunch on the third day. Due to which the team’s total lead has reached 321 runs. Till lunch, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal returned unbeaten after scoring 141 runs, while at the other end, Devdat Padhikal plays him after scoring 25 runs. In the second innings, the team’s only wicket fell in the form of KL Rahul who was caught by Mitchell Starc at the hands of wicketkeeper Ellis Carey with a score of 77 runs. At the start of the second innings, the team’s first batsmen put up a record 201-run partnership for the first wicket and pushed the host team back.
Records of Sunil Gavaskar and K Srikanth broken
After 38 years, the initial pair of the Indian team has formed a partnership of 150 or more. Earlier, the pair of Sunil Gavaskar and K Srikanth had done this for the team in 1986. They then put on an opening 191-run partnership in Sydney. Today, breaking their 1986 record, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 201 runs in the first wicket partnership.
The captain returned
When the Indian team was reduced to 150, all the fans and even the team camp were disappointed to some extent. No one expected such a weak performance from the Indian team. While captain Jasprit Bumrah was probably confident in himself and optimistic about the team’s recovery.
