Police in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district have solved a murder case with the help of flies found on the clothes of a 19-year-old suspect. Officials provided this information on Tuesday. ASP Sonali Dubey told reporters on Monday that the suspect has been identified as Dharam Thakur and has been arrested for killing his uncle Manoj Thakur alias Mannu (26) after a dispute over money.

Chargawan police station in-charge Abhishek Pyasi said the eyes of the accused present in the crowd at the murder site were red and some marks were visible on his chest.

Flies were buzzing on the shirt and blood was found during the investigation.

He said: “While asking about the man, I noticed that there were flies stuck to some of his clothes, which made me suspect there were blood stains.” However, the blood stains were not visible on the dark-colored clothes he was wearing. The officer said he had the forensic team present at the spot examine the clothes of the accused and found that there were blood stains on them. He said that the accused initially pleaded not guilty but later accepted his crime.
