Ayodhya. Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary was celebrated at the Congress office. Congress leaders paid tribute to his portrait by garlanding it. A seminar on the program was organized. The seminar was chaired by district spokesperson Sunil Krishna Gautam and Seva Dal operational metropolitan president Basant Mishra.

Speaking at the seminar, district spokesperson Sunil Krishna Gautam said that Indira Gandhi was Prime Minister of India three consecutive times between 1966 and 1977. After that, she became Prime Minister of India for the fourth time from 1980 to her political assassination in 1984. She was the first and so far the only female Prime Minister of India.

He said Indira Gandhi had unprecedented self-confidence and strong willpower. During his tenure as Prime Minister, he made the country very strong economically, politically and militarily and presented a strong image of India globally.

Seva Dal metropolitan president Basant Mishra said that during Mrs Indira Gandhi’s tenure, schemes like moderate increase in taxes on high-income Indians, nationalization of banks, Green Revolution and Garibi Hatao were highlighted. Metropolitan Vice President Karan Tripathi said that late Mrs. Indira Gandhiji, as Prime Minister, presided over three five-year plans, of which two five-year plans managed to complete the planned development. Prominent PCC members Ugrasen Mishra, Umesh Upadhyay, Brijesh Rawat, Kavindra Sahni, Vishal Dubey, Satish Singh, etc. were present on this occasion.
