Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said Prime Minister Modi thanked President Lula for successfully organizing the G20 summit. He said: “The Prime Minister assured India’s full support for Brazil’s initiative on ‘Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty’. The discussion focused on exploring opportunities for greater cooperation in renewable energy, biofuels, defence, agriculture, healthcare and digital technology.

PM Modi to go to Guyana from Brazil

On Monday, President Lula warmly welcomed Prime Minister Modi at the G20 summit venue. Along with Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden are among the leaders who will attend the Rio de Janeiro summit on November 18-19. From Brazil, Prime Minister Modi will visit Guyana at the invitation of President Mohammad Irfan Ali. This will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Guyana in more than 50 years.
