Young Muslim dressed as a saint captured in Ghazipur

Three youths dressed as sadhus have been arrested under suspicious circumstances in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. These three youths were awakening the spirit of Bholenath in the villages with garlands around their necks and sticks in their hands. When the villagers became suspicious of their activities, they chased them. During this time it was revealed that all three belonged to the Muslim community. After this, people caught them and first beat them and then called the police and handed them over. These three youths have been identified as Sohrab Khan, Shahzad Khan and Niad, residents of Dohrighat in the neighboring Mau district.

The matter is in Sukhaan market in Qasimabad market police station area in Ghazipur. On Friday afternoon, the accused were wandering around the populated area under suspicious circumstances, begging for alms. According to local people, the three youths were begging for alms dressed as Jogi, invoking Lord Bholenath. However, by observing his gait and actions, it became clear that he could not be a yogi. When the villagers feared something untoward, they began to chase them. During this time the suspicion was confirmed.

Accused handed over to police after beating

After this, the villagers caught them and beat them and then called the police and handed them over. Locals allege that the accused came here with the intention of committing some crime and were conducting reconnaissance before the crime. Following the villagers’ complaint, the police arrested the three accused and after questioning them produced them before the court. According to Inspector Mahendra Singh, in-charge of Kasimabad Bazaar police station, the identity given by the accused is being verified.

Police investigate the background of the accused

In this regard, Dohrighat Police Station was also informed and asked to investigate the background of the accused. According to the police, during interrogation the accused said that they had no connection with any incident. He felt that he could earn a good amount of money if he became a saint and begged for alms. That is why they began to beg for alms disguised as yogis. The police are currently investigating the matter.
