The railroads made a big announcement.

Chhath Puja is celebrated with devotion in various areas of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The enthusiasm for this festival is so high that thousands of travelers travel home from other states every year. Now Railways has taken a big decision keeping in mind the return of passengers after the end of Chhath Puja and the crowd that emerged in its wake. In view of the rush of passengers returning to their native places since November 8, the Railways has prepared more than 500 special trains. The Railway Directorate informed about this on Wednesday.

Where will the trains leave from?

A statement issued by the Railway Board said, “Special trains have been announced for returning passengers and plans have been made to operate additional trains from Samastipur, Danapur and other divisions to meet local demand.”

How many trains will run on which day?

In the advisory issued by the Railway Board, it is said that the rush of passengers will begin after dawn on November 8, the day of Chhath Puja. Keeping in mind the possibility of a rush of passengers, Railways has prepared 164 special trains for November 8. Next, Railways plans to operate 160 special trains on November 9, 161 trains on November 10 and 155 special trains on November 11.

There were more than 1 million passengers on November 4.

The board has informed that of these passengers, 19.43 lakh were booked passengers and 101.29 lakh were unreserved non-suburban passengers. This number of passengers traveling by rail is greater than the combined population of Australia and New Zealand. The Railway Board has reported that around 65 lakh passengers have traveled in 4,521 special trains in the last 36 days. According to the Railway Directorate, a total of 7,724 special trains have been announced to meet the growing travel demand during the festivals from October 1 to November 30. This number of trains is more than 73 percent compared to last year’s 4,429 trains. (input language)
