Govardhan Puja 2024: On the second day of Diwali, Annakoot and Govardhan are worshiped on Kartik Shukla Pratipada Tithi. Mainly, it is the worship of nature that was started by Lord Krishna. The Pratipada Tithi of Govardhan Puja will begin on November 1 i.e. today at 6:16 pm and will end on November 2 i.e. tomorrow night at 8:21 pm According to Udayatithi, this time the festival of Govardhan and Annakoot will be celebrated on November 2 only.

Govardhan Puja 2024 Pujan Vidhi
On this day, first massage your body with oil and take a bath. After this, make the shape of Govardhan mountain with cow dung at the main entrance of the house. Also go around that mountain and make shapes of shepherds, trees and plants around it. After that, place the idol or image of Lord Krishna in the middle of the Govardhan mountain. After this worship, Govardhan mountain and Lord Krishna. After worshiping, pray for your wishes. After this, offer Panchamrit and food to Lord Krishna. Those who pray to the Govardhan mountain on this day are believed to remove problems related to their children.
Importance of Annakoot on Govardhan Puja day
On this day, devotees offer various types of sweets and dishes to Lord Krishna. Not only this, on this day 56 types of food are prepared and offered to Lord Krishna and these 56 types of dishes are called Annakoot. On this day Annakoot is also organized in temples.
Govardhan Puja Katha
The religious belief behind performing Govardhan Puja is that Lord Krishna wanted to break Indra’s pride. For this, he protected the people of Gokul from Indra by lifting the Govardhan mountain with his little finger. It is believed that after this, Lord Krishna himself ordered to worship the Govardhan mountain by making 56 offerings on the day of Kartik Shukla Pratipada.
