- There should be no pebbles or stones in the manure or soil mixed with it.
- Make the shape of Lord Govardhan with cow dung.
- Make Giriraj mountain and offer curry rice and Annakoot on top.
- Make the figure of Lord Govardhan in sleeping posture.
- Keep an earthen lamp in place of the navel of Lord Govardhan.
- Keep milk, curd, honey, batasha and Ganga water in the navel lamp.
- After keeping the lamp in the middle, one should listen to Govardhan Katha.

- Decorate the figure of God with flowers and remember Lord Govardhan.
- After this, as the puja begins, offer Naivedya and fruits to Lord Govardhan.
