Jammu. Terming the governance in the Union Territory as vague, Jammu and Kashmir Congress unit president Tariq Hameed Karra stated that it is an irony that even after a month of government formation, the terms of governance are not are defined and the people in power are not playing their role. roles and responsibilities are not clear.
Karra said the Congress is taking a major initiative to look into the reasons for its defeat in the recent assembly elections in Jammu division. He said that under this, the party has constituted a fact-finding committee to hold talks with Congress workers in 10 districts of the region and submit its report within a month. He said this (dual power system) is not a permanent situation. Jammu and Kashmir is facing such a situation for the first time and this is a transitional phase. Those who have been entrusted with powers and who are expected to exercise them are equally insecure about their roles. I think this issue could have already reached the constitutional experts or even the (Union) Home Ministry. The Congress leader expressed hope that the situation would be resolved soon.
