Prime minister Many important decisions were taken in an important cabinet meeting chaired by Narendra Modi. In this Cabinet meeting, special attention was paid to the country’s farmers and agriculture, which will undoubtedly benefit the country’s farmers greatly. The Prime Minister Modi-led Cabinet today approved the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF) as a centrally sponsored stand-alone scheme under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Keeping in mind the interests of farmers, a total of Rs 2,481 crore will be spent on this scheme, of which Rs 1,584 crore will be spent by the central government and in turn, Rs 897 crore will be spent by the governments state.

The government wants to focus more on natural agriculture

The central government wants to focus more on natural farming across the country. Under this scheme, a mission will be executed to promote natural farming across the country in mission mode. According to information provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Natural Farming Mission will be implemented in 15,000 groups in the concerned gram panchayats. In this mission, 1 crore farmers will be covered and natural farming will be started in a land area of ​​7.5 lakh hectares. According to the plan, priority will be given to farmers practicing natural farming, areas practicing SRLM/PACS/FPO etc.

10,000 bioinput resource centers will be established as per need.

Under the National Natural Agriculture Mission, 10,000 need-based bio-input resource centers will be established to provide farmers with easy availability and access to ready-to-use natural agricultural inputs. Apart from this, demonstration farms of natural farming model will be established in around 2000 Krishi Vigyan Kendras, agricultural colleges and farmers’ fields. Under the mission, farmers will receive a simple certification system and a dedicated common brand to provide market access for their natural agricultural products.
