The Delhi government announced on Sunday that except classes 10 and 12, all other classes will be conducted online. This announcement has been made at a time when the pollution level in Delhi remains at dangerous levels for the fifth consecutive day. The announcement came hours after the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) imposed strict pollution control measures for the National Capital Region of Delhi (NCR) under the fourth phase of the Plan. Phased Response Action Plan (GRAP). The fourth phase of GRAP will come into effect at 8 a.m. today.

In a post on Twitter, Chief Minister Atishi said that with the implementation of GRAP-IV from today, physical classes will remain suspended for all students except students of classes 10th and 12th. All schools will conduct online classes until further orders.

Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) reached the severe category on Sunday. The AQI in Delhi was recorded at 441 at 4 pm, which increased to 457 at 7 pm due to adverse weather.

As per the order, no truck will be allowed to enter Delhi except those carrying essential commodities or using clean fuel (LNG/CNG/BS-VI diesel/electric). The Directorate of Education has directed principals of all public and private schools to ensure that offline classes for students up to classes 9 and 11 are not held until further orders.

The Directorate of Education said in an order that the principals of all government, government-aided and non-government-aided recognized private schools in Delhi under the Directorate of Education, MCD (Delhi Municipal Corporation), NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Council) and DCB have been informed about this. Instructions are given to ensure that schools for all students up to classes 9 and 11 are closed from November 18 until further orders. As per the order, offline classes will continue for students of classes 10th and 12th.
