Champions Trophy 2025: Champions Trophy 2025 will be organized on Pakistani soil. Pakistan is doing everything possible to bring the Champions Trophy to their country. But the Indian team’s visit to Pakistan is yet to be confirmed and the BCCI has left the final decision to the Indian government. The PCB has already announced the draft schedule for the Champions Trophy, in which all India’s matches were to be held in Lahore. PCB also said that if the Indian team wants, they can come to Lahore just to play the match. Immediately afterwards the team must return to India on a special plane. But now Pakistan’s stance towards the Champions Trophy seems to be softening.

The Champions Trophy can be organized in a hybrid model

A reliable source in the PCB told ‘PTI’ that the PCB is of the view that even if the Indian government does not approve the Pakistan tour, some changes can be made in the schedule as there is a good chance that India will play its matches in Dubai or Sharjah. . The ICC, for its part, cannot force any board to go against its government policy and it will be interesting to see when the BCCI takes the final decision on this matter. When the final decision is likely to be made, the ICC will be headed by India’s Jay Shah. Meanwhile, the PCB is pressuring the ICC to announce the tournament schedule next week as some of the world governing body’s top officials are scheduled to visit Lahore again next week.

There are high chances that the Indian match will be held in the UAE.

According to the PTI report, the Champions Trophy can be held in a hybrid model, wherein Team India’s matches can be held in the UAE. The last time Pakistan hosted the Asia Cup in 2023, it was also held in a “hybrid model” with India playing its matches in Sri Lanka as the government refused to allow players to cross the border.

PCB is spending crores of rupees on stadium renovation

The source said that the PCB has discussed with the ICC the possible schedule that they had sent a few months ago and wants the same schedule to be announced on November 11. He has told the ICC that an alternative plan with a revised budget already exists, so there is no point in delaying the publication of the possible schedule. The source said the PCB wants the BCCI to inform in writing whether they have received permission from their government to send their team to Pakistan or not. According to sources, the PCB is spending around Rs 13 billion on renovating its stadiums in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi, where the Champions Trophy matches are scheduled to be held.
