Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Nigeria
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is touring Nigeria. Prime Minister Modi received a grand welcome in Nigeria. Not only was there excitement among the Indian community upon their arrival, but Nigerians also showcased Indian culture. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nesom Ezenwo Wike, warmly welcomed the Prime Minister. He also gifted the key to the city of Abuja to the Prime Minister. The Ministry of External Affairs also shared photographs of the Prime Minister’s welcome in the country.
Prime Minister Modi will meet President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today. There will be bilateral talks between Prime Minister Modi and President Tinubu. The Prime Minister of India has visited Nigeria for 17 years. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will also address the Indian community.
Bilateral talks with President Tinubu
Prime Minister Modi is on a two-day visit to Nigeria. Prime Minister Modi’s schedule today is very special. President Tinubu and Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral talks to further strengthen relations between the two countries. Prime Minister Modi and President Tinubu will review the strategic partnership between the two countries and discuss ways to improve bilateral relations. After this conversation, many agreements are also expected to be signed to further deepen relations between the two countries.

As soon as Prime Minister Modi arrived in the capital Abuja, the enthusiasm of the Indian community was visible. They welcomed him with drums and everyone, from small children to the elderly, stood with the tricolor in their hands to welcome Prime Minister Modi. India and Nigeria have been strategic partners since 2007 with growing economic, energy and defense cooperation. Additionally, more than 200 Indian companies have invested more than $27 billion in important sectors in Nigeria. Both countries also share a strong development cooperation partnership. The President of Nigeria visited India last year for the G20 summit.

Which countries will the Prime Minister visit?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a five-day visit to three countries. Prime Minister Modi will visit Brazil after Nigeria. The prime minister will be part of the 19th G20 Summit in Brazil. After Brazil, Prime Minister Modi will visit Guyana in the third and final leg of his visit. Prime Minister Modi will visit Guyana from November 19 to 21 at the invitation of Guyana’s President Mohammed Irfan Ali.
