Sirsa MP Kumari Selja targets BJP over DAP fertilizer shortage
Chandigarh News (Aaj Samaj) Chandigarh: All India Congress Committee national general secretary, former Union minister and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja said that these days farmers are facing a lot of problems due to shortage of DAP fertilizer in the state. Wheat sowing is being affected due to lack of availability of DAP. Farmers who have irrigated their fields will now have to do so again due to non-availability of DAP fertilizer in time, which will delay wheat sowing.
The longer wheat planting is delayed, the more it will affect production. So farmers will have to face more financial crises. Kumari Selja said that wheat is sown on more than 23 lakh hectares of area in the state of Haryana. Which contributes significantly to the country’s food grain storage. If we talk about wheat cultivation alone, more than 60 lakh DAP bags are required for sowing in this area. The sowing of wheat begins in the month of October itself.
BJP shows signs of being anti-farmer
He said that in such a situation, the government should have made arrangements for DAP in the month of September itself so that farmers did not have to face shortage of DAP at the time of sowing. Kumari Selja said the BJP government did not organize the DAP on time but was busy celebrating the victory. The BJP is not at all concerned about farmers’ problems. The BJP government, which claims to be farmer-friendly, is proving to be an anti-farmer government by providing DAP at the time of wheat sowing.
