Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources held a meeting with senior officials of the department
Said-Minister will soon inspect Hathini Kund Barrage and take stock of water supply.
They will monitor the online projects themselves in the portal.
Chandigarh News (Aaj Samaj) Chandigarh: Haryana Women and Child Development, Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Shruti Chaudhary said the state government is farmer-friendly. The Minister gave instructions to the department officials to ensure that the water from the canal reaches the tail of the farmers’ fields and makes it convenient to harvest crops. The Minister also directed the officials to visit each assembly constituency in each district of the state and find out what problems farmers are facing in canal water supply so that help can be provided to them at the earliest. The Minister will soon meet with the SE of the department and will herself monitor the projects online through the portal, so that they can be completed on time.
Besides, the minister will soon inspect the Hathini Kund dam and also take stock of the water supply. Minister Shruti Chaudhary addressed the meeting of senior officials of the Department of Irrigation and Water Resources. The Minister said she will personally monitor and hold a review meeting to ensure that there is adequate supply of water to the canals and that there are no delays in carrying out the projects. He said that the repair of canals and rivers should be done on time, so that water can easily reach farmers’ fields.
