Narcotics cells across the state face staffing shortages
Chandigarh News (Aaj Samaj) Chandigarh: All India Congress Committee general secretary, former Union Minister and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja has said that all government de-addiction schemes have been limited to newspapers, in whose name food is supplied, so instead of decreasing. , the supply of drugs in the state has increased by 18 percent compared to last year, which is a matter of great concern, youth are dying due to drug addiction, in such a situation, the government should take strict measures to eliminate addiction. Along with the police, all people in the society must cooperate in this campaign because it can only be ended with the cooperation of the society. Kumari Selja has said that the figures emerging on drug addiction in the state are quite frightening, people from all sections of the society will have to pay attention to this. The situation is serious in 16 of the 22 districts of the state, 900 villages are the most affected, Haryana is a state where it is easy to get all types of medicines. Young people between 18 and 35 years old are most vulnerable to this in the state.
Along with Haryana, the districts adjoining its headquarters, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi and UP, are affected by drug addiction. He said Sirsa and Fatehabad districts are the worst affected; Apart from this, Hisar, Rewari, Yamunanagar, Ambala, Jind, Faridabad, Karnal, Kaithal, Rohtak, Sonipat, Kurukshetra, Palwal and Nuhan are also under the grip of drugs. An average of 50 drug addicts die every year. The government has been hiding figures on drug abuse deaths, while figures on the ground say something else.
Addiction is the mother of all crimes
He has said that whatever plans the state government has made regarding elimination of drug addiction, they have been imprisoned in the archives and their implementation is not visible on the ground. As long as there is pretense in the name of the campaign, success cannot be achieved. There are staffing shortages in narcotics cells across the state. In such a situation, how can drug traffickers be controlled? Unless there is public cooperation in this campaign, it will not be successful. The task of stopping drug abuse is not the sole responsibility of the police; everyone will have to cooperate in it. He said intoxication is the mother of all types of crimes and if intoxication is banned, crimes will automatically reduce. The government will have to take strict measures in this direction.
