5 patients have died due to dengue
Chandigarh News (Aaj Samaj) Chandigarh: Despite all the efforts of the Health Department, new cases of dengue are not being controlled in Haryana and if additional measures are not taken to prevent dengue, a dire situation may arise in the state. In this episode it has come to light that health department officials are busy giving orders to each other. In this context, we also tell you that nebulization is reducing compared to the number of dengue cases in the state.
Nearly one-third of the total cases have been reported so far from Panchkula district of the state, showing the seriousness of the situation. Furthermore, dengue cases are continuously being reported in many districts along the GT Road strip, so the situation has become worrying. Hisar and Panchkula have become hotspots of dengue. The worst affected areas are Hisar, Panchkula, Gurugram, Panipat Karnal, Rewari, Sonipat and Kurukshetra districts. So far, more than 5,600 cases of dengue have been reported in the state.
The highest number of dengue cases were recorded in Panchkula.
The situation is worrying in about half a dozen cases, including Panchkula, Hisar and Karnal.
As per departmental data so far, there are around half a dozen districts in the state, including Panchkula and Hisar, where a continuous rise in dengue cases is being recorded. So far, 1,300 cases have been reported in Panchkula, 517 in Hisar, 479 in Karnal, 449 in Sonipat, 369 in Rewari, 291 in Panipat and 260 in Kurukshetra.
Every year an average of 5 people die
So far this year, 5 people have lost their lives due to the disease in Haryana. Although more people are believed to have died from the disease, the department has kept some deaths in the category of suspicious deaths. At the same time, let us also say that in Haryana last year in 2022, the maximum number of 18 people died due to the disease, while in 2015, the disease claimed the lives of 13 people. There have been no deaths due to the disease in the five-year period from 2016 to 2020. A total of 44 people have died in the nine-year period between 2015 and 2023. In this context, on average more than 5 people die each year due to of diseases.
27 dengue testing laboratories in the state
A total of 27 dengue testing laboratories are operating in the state, with at least one laboratory in each district. Additionally, private hospitals and laboratories have been banned from charging a maximum of Rs 600 for the recommended dengue test (ELISA-based NS1/IgM). Single donor platelets (SDP) have been provided free of charge to Haryana native dengue patients admitted to government hospitals in the state. At present, a total of seven platelet apheresis facilities (Panchkula Civil Hospital, Gurugram, Hisar and Faridabad, PGIMS Rohtak, KCGMC Karnal and BPSGMC Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat) are functioning in the state.
Apart from this, a provision has also been made to provide free SDP from private blood banks to dengue patients native to Haryana admitted in government hospitals, the expense of which is borne by the state government. A total of 72 apheresis machines are operational in private hospitals in the state. In civil hospitals, 196 wards and 1,022 beds have been reserved for dengue patients.
