MP Deependra Hooda also arrived in Wayanad for the election campaign.
Chandigarh News (Aaj Samaj) Chandigarh: Leaders from Haryana have also started arriving to campaign in support of Priyanka Gandhi, who is contesting for the first time from Kerala’s Wayanad. Wrestler-turned-MLA Vinesh Phogat has started the election campaign for Wayanad Priyanka Gandhi. Vinesh Phogat is the MLA from Julana assembly seat in Jind. Rohtak MP Deependra Hooda also reached out to Wayanad for Priyanka’s election campaign. It may be noted that by-elections are being held for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat that fell vacant following the resignation of Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi had contested the elections from Rae Bareli and Wayanad in the last Lok Sabha elections.
Rahul was elected MP from both places. Therefore, he had to resign from one seat, so Rahul Gandhi resigned from Wayanad. Now the Congress has chosen Priyanka Gandhi as its candidate. Priyanka Gandhi is contesting elections for the first time. Deependra Hooda and Vinesh Phogat are asking people of Wayanad to vote for Priyanka.
Workers should not go to Wayanad to campaign for elections at their level.
Haryana Congress state president Udaybhan has made a unique appeal to workers campaigning for Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, who is contesting elections from Wayanad. He has said that Haryana workers should not campaign at their level in the by-elections being held in Wayanad. The All India Congress Committee will inform the workers that they will work in Wayanad.
