The central government reported in Parliament on Thursday about the attack on temples in Bangladesh. The government told the Rajya Sabha that many incidents of desecration and damage to Hindu temples and statues have been reported in Bangladesh in recent months. The Government of India has expressed concern over these incidents. These incidents include an attack on a puja temple in Dhaka’s Tantibazar and a robbery at the Jeshoreshwari Kali temple in Satkhira during Durga Puja-2024.

The central government said in Rajya Sabha that the Bangladesh government has the responsibility to ensure the safety of Hindus and all minorities. Furthermore, the primary responsibility for the security of life and liberty of all citizens, including their places of worship, lies with the Government of Bangladesh. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh said these things in response to a question.

They ask to guarantee the security of places of worship

The minister was asked if incidents of desecration and damage to Hindu temples had increased in Bangladesh. If yes, has the government taken up this matter with Bangladesh? Has there been any response in this regard from the Bangladesh government? Responding, the minister said the government has asked the Bangladesh government to ensure the safety of minorities and their places of worship.

The great claim of Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari

On the other hand, ISKCON Bangladesh chief Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari made a big claim on Thursday. He said ISKCON is being attacked in Bangladesh for uniting the oppressed Hindu community. ISKCON opposes forced conversion in Bangladesh. Because of his efforts, he is being attacked.

Speaking to the agency, he said he was relieved by the High Court’s decision, which rejected the request to ban the organization’s activities. Brahmachari said no government will ever accept such demands of extremists. ISKCON is a peaceful organization.
