Ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League, RCB took a big decision and included the head coach of the Mumbai Ranji team in their team. We are talking about Omkar Salvi, who will be the new fast bowling coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore. Omkar Salvi is a big name in domestic cricket coaching. Omkar Salvi had joined Mumbai for the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy and it was under his leadership that this team managed to win the Ranji Trophy after 8 years. Not only this, the Mumbai team also won the Iran Cup under the leadership of Salvi. Mumbai won this prestigious trophy after 27 years.

Omkar Salvi’s entry into RCB

According to RCB sources, Omkar Salvi will join the team after March 2025. He will join RCB only after the domestic season ends. According to reports, IPL 2025 may begin in the last week of March. Salvi is contracted with the Mumbai Cricket Association until then.

Omkar Salvi’s experience

Omkar Salvi does not have much experience as a player. He played only one match for Ferrocarriles in the year 2005. He only took one wicket in his career. But as a coach he is quite popular among the players. This year too, under his leadership, Mumbai occupies the third position in the elite group of the Ranji Trophy. The team has scored 22 points in 5 games. Salvi also has IPL experience. He has also been the assistant bowling coach of Kolkata Knight Riders.
