ranchi: Hemant Soren will take oath today as Chief Minister of Jharkhand. His coronation will take place in some time. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and other great leaders of the Indian Alliance are present at the oath-taking ceremony. Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar will take oath and secrecy to Hemant Soren. Hemant Soren will become Jharkhand Chief Minister for the fourth time. In the assembly elections, Soren won the Barhet seat by defeating BJP’s Gamliyal Hembram by a margin of 39,791 votes.
The JMM-led alliance maintained its majority in the assembly elections by winning 56 of the total 81 seats, while the BJP-led NDA won 24 seats. Posters of the oath ceremony can be seen all over Ranchi. In the capital, security measures have been reinforced and traffic regulations have been implemented. Schools are closed in Ranchi city in view of the takeover of the Hemant Soren-led government. Party general secretary and Congress unit in-charge in Jharkhand Ghulam Ahmed Mir said only Soren will take oath and the cabinet will be expanded after the vote of confidence in the assembly.
