Police arrested 6 accused
A strange case of robbery has come to light in the country’s capital, Delhi. Six people recently released from jail decide to commit a robbery in the Dwarka area of Delhi to raise money to go on a trip to the mountains. Their plot, however, was foiled when they were captured by police shortly after attacking their first victim.
50,000 rupees looted at gunpoint
On the afternoon of November 12, a gang of criminals living in Bindapur’s JJ Colony had robbed a shopkeeper at gunpoint in the southwest area. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh said, “A trader named Mukesh was returning home on his scooter when he was stopped near the DDA flats in Bindapur. “Three people riding a motorcycle stopped him and looted Rs 50,000. at gunpoint.”
More than 500 security camera images were examined
Police said several teams were formed to identify and arrest the accused. They analyzed images from more than 500 CCTV cameras to track the suspects’ movements and identify them.
All 6 accused arrested
DCP said that based on the information, the police laid a trap and on November 17 arrested three accused, Mohammad Sajid (23), Mohammad Shoaib (19) and Mohammad Rashid (22). The police officer said that during interrogation he confessed to the crime and revealed the participation of his other three accomplices in it. Following this, Mohammad Ayan (19), Mohammad Aftab (22) and Mohammad Altab (24) were arrested.
He was struggling with the financial crisis after getting out of jail.
The DCP said, ‘All the accused have criminal records and were facing financial crisis. Recently released from prison after serving time for several crimes, he plans to enjoy the snowfall in a mountain resort. But since they didn’t have money, they decided to commit a robbery.
They recover cash, motorcycle and peasant-made pistol
They targeted Mukesh based on information received from an acquaintance in the market. He said the gang conspired to commit a robbery and used a motorcycle and a country-made gun to commit the crime. The officer said the police recovered looted cash worth Rs 35,200, a motorcycle and a country-made pistol. According to police, the gang had plotted to rob other merchants in the area, but they were captured.
