People living in Delhi NCR are suffering from increasing pollution. The Central Government has also allocated a huge budget to solve this problem, but the Noida Authority officials have still not been able to understand where to spend this budget. In such a situation, around 90 percent of the total budget is still left. The Pollution Control Board made this disclosure in response to a question asked under RTI. This RTI was filed by Amit Gupta, a resident of Sector 77.
He asked the Pollution Control Board how much budget the central government has allocated to tackle this problem which is becoming deadly in the last three years and how much has been spent. In response to this question, the Board has said that in the last three years, a total of Rs 30 crore and Rs 89 lakh was given to the Noida Authority under this account. Of this, the authority has so far spent only Rs 3 crore 44 lakh. With this amount, the Noida Authority has purchased four mechanical sweepers and anti-smog guns. The remaining amount has not yet been used.
The Supreme Court has rebuked
Let us tell you that since last week, the situation in Delhi NCR has worsened due to pollution. Nursery schools have been closed. Keeping in mind the health of their employees, many companies have given them work from home instead of calling them to the office. The Supreme Court has also reprimanded the central and state governments for such a situation. Despite this, due to the negligence of officials, no concrete solution has been found so far to address the pollution problem.
some relief from pollution
Noida residents have received some relief from pollution since the last two days. However, on Monday the AQI here was recorded at 243 in the poor category. According to meteorological department officials, the wind speed will remain high for the next three to four days. This can provide greater relief from contamination. According to the data released by the Central Pollution Control Board, currently the level of PM 2.5 and PM 10 in the air is much lower than before.
