The signature style of director Shoojit Sircar, who has been changing tastes with films like ‘Sardar Udham’ and ‘Madras Cafe’, is Slice of Life. In Hindi it means something like “a piece of life.” What I mean is that it is a story that shows life very closely through the prism of reality. Not in the big “realistically bigger” kind of movie style.
Shoojit Sircar, who has done films like ‘Vicky Donor’, ‘Piku’ and ‘October’, is now coming up with his next film with Abhishek Bachchan whose title is ‘I Want To Talk’. want.’ The trailer of the film has arrived and these days, among the masala entertainer films that are pouring rain, this film looks calm and relieved in the morning.
A piece of life peeking through the window of death.
‘I Want to Talk’ is the story of a character named Arjun (Abhishek Bachchan), who is probably going through some medical condition that is going to affect his ability to speak or maybe make it difficult to save his life. At the beginning of the trailer, it is seen that Abhishek’s character has undergone a serious surgery, due to which his jaw and lower part of his face have become so deformed that he cannot speak.
The story of the film is such that Abhishek finds out about his condition. And they want to say a lot before their ability to speak is affected. He has to apologize to a lot of people he didn’t get to spend time with. He seems to want to regret some things in front of many people.
When a person has less time, how do they view relationships? How he acknowledges his personal struggle and through what lens he looks at life, ‘I Want to Talk’ brings a similar story. And when there is a dark twist hidden in the story, the humor also turns dark, which is visible in Arjun’s interactions with the other characters. Watch the trailer for ‘I Want to Talk’ here:
Abhishek’s work is strong.
Abhishek Bachchan has been choosing very different roles for some time now. His previous release ‘Ghoomar’ was also proof of this. Now Abhishek has chosen a character who can in no way be considered a normal Bollywood character. While dealing with this character, there is a distinct calmness about him which is Shoojit Sircar’s style. In such a situation, the combination of these two seems ready to deliver a beautiful message of life.
Johnny Lever is also seen with Abhishek in a scene in the trailer. It’s quite comforting to see it in a story like that. Digital creator Ahilya Bamru plays the role of Abhishek’s daughter. And Jayant Kripalani plays the role of a doctor whose humor is darker than Abhishek’s. Amidst the barrage of typical formula masala films in the theatres, ‘I Want to Talk’ seems set to deliver a beautiful story in a relaxed style. This film will be released in theaters on November 22.
