Asaduddin Owaisi commented
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said if non-Hindus cannot work in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, why do non-Muslims work in the Waqf Board? In fact, the new president of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board, BR Naidu, had recently said that all people working in the service of Lord Venkateswara should be Hindus. Responding to this, Asaduddin Owaisi said that a total of 24 members are working in the TTD Board.
No member working here is non-Hindu. Whereas it has been made mandatory for Muslims to have two non-Muslims in the Waqf Board. He asked if there is equality between these two boards. Asaduddin Owaisi said in strong words that if Muslims have not been given a place to work in TTD, a Hindu religious board, then how correct is the requirement of having non-Muslims in the Muslim board?
Why are non-Muslims included in the bill proposed by the Waqf Board?
Asaduddin Owaisi has said that the decision taken by the TTD president is correct from the point of view of Hindu religion. Our objection is that all members included in the State Waqf Board should be Muslims, but there their numbers are reducing. At the same time, it has been made mandatory to have two non-Muslim members in the Central Waqf Board.
He asked why such changes are being made in the Waqf Board. He said there should be equality between the two religions. Asaduddin Owaisi said that when a Hindu Trust cannot have non-Hindu members, is it right to do so in a Muslim Board Waqf?
What did Maulana Shahabuddin say?
In this matter, Maulana Shahabuddin Bareilly, National President of All India Muslim Jamaat, Bareilly has given his reaction to Asaduddin Owaisi’s statement. He said that whatever Asaduddin Owaisi has said in reference to Tirupati Balaji Trust and in relation to the Waqf Board, is baseless and absolutely incorrect. They have no information. He is a lawyer and should study the Waqf Boards established in the country.
For a long time, Waqf Inspectors and Commissioners have been appointed in the Waqf Board for the functioning of the Waqf Board and for investigation of lands. Most of the officers who came here were not Muslims. Therefore, raising objections against Owaisi Saheb is baseless. They should study the Waqf boards. They are not yet aware of this and make such statements unknowingly. Maulana further said that Owaisi Saheb should not mislead Muslims.
