Indian hockey team’s star player Olympian Akashdeep Singh and Haryana hockey player Monica are getting married soon. Both players are getting married. Their engagement took place at the club located on Ludhiana Highway. Monica is originally from Gamdi village of Gohana, Sonipat, Haryana. At the same time, Akashdeep Singh is a resident of Veerowal village of Khadur Sahib, Tarn Taran.

Due to his passion for hockey, Akashdeep moved from Guru Angad Dev Sports Club to PAU Hockey Academy in Ludhiana in the year 2006. After this, Surjeet joined the Hockey Academy in Jalandhar.

Akashdeep receives Arjuna award

Akashdeep was also the captain of the Junior National Team in 2011. He was part of the team that played in the World Juniors in Delhi in 2012. He made his debut for the senior team in the 2012 FIH Champions Trophy match against Great Britain in Melbourne. His talent was so extraordinary that he debuted with the under-21 team just a year after playing with the senior team. Akashdeep Singh received the prestigious Arjuna Award in August 2020.
