India’s oilmeal exports rose 5 per cent to 3.05 lakh tonnes in October compared with 2.89 lakh tonnes in the same period a year ago, according to industry body SEA.
However, during the April-October period of fiscal year 2024-25, total oilmeal exports declined by 7 per cent to 23.88 lakh tonnes as against 25.66 lakh tonnes in the corresponding period last year, mainly due to lower shipments of rapeseed and castor bean meal.
Rapeseed meal exports declined to 1.60 lakh tonnes in October from 1.69 lakh tonnes a year ago, the Solvent Extractors Association of India (SEA) said in a statement.
